Shortlisted | Francesca Resta illustrations

About me

Francesca Resta is an Italian illustrator based in London, UK.

A long time reader of fantasy and science fiction novels, she turns to the fantasy genre also with her illustrations. Her love for the human figure poses the characters at the center of her works and she finds her inspiration in books and myths, but also movies and videogames.

She works freelance as a book cover artist and illustrator while also working as a concept artist for PlayNGo in London.

Her illustrations are digital, painted with Corel Painter and Photoshop, and she keeps striving to improve her art and learning through workshops, mentorships and courses with some of the best artists out there, like Dan Dos Santos, Donato Giancola and Gianni De Conno.

In 2021, she received a Chesley Award in the Best Magazine Illustration category for her cover for Clarkesworld 169
